Elise Boehler / K3

My family and I are members of Crossroads Community church. My husband, Cason, works for the state. My hobbies include cooking, reading, and anything outside especially with water. It is such a blessing to be part of the Oaks family and I am so excited to be the K3 teacher this year. Our classroom has a puppy dog theme, which includes our class pet Trooper. We want to promote a playful and safe environment for the smallest of our Oaks children as we introduce them to the fundamentals of school. Our days are filled with fun activities, Christian based curriculum, and special area classes. “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

Gibby / K4 a

I am so excited to be teaching my second year here at The Oaks! I graduated from San Jose State University in California with a Bachelor's in Child and Adolescent Development in 2007. After that, I worked in childcare as a PreK teacher and worked my way up to Director. In 2014 my husband's' job relocated our family to the Charleston area. We have two girls who also attend The Oaks! Brynn is in 1st grade and Addison is in K4.

Sarah Burroughs / K4 b

I was born and raised in Charleston, SC and there is no greater place to live. Working for the Oaks is rewarding in that I get to work in a field that I can experience my faith and my passion working together. I love working with children and helping them grow developmentally as well as spiritually, it is just one of my many passions. I also enjoy working in youth ministry at Crossroads Community Church, anything involving music, and I also enjoy working out in my free time. I have been married to my amazing, supportive husband, Chas, for 3 years and I know I would not be able to accomplish all that I have without his support. We have just one little baby right now and that is our beagle-hound mix, Oliver. I currently am pursuing my degree in business administration and I am expected to finish my Bachelor's degree in June of 2017.

Sharon Williams / K5 a

I am a native of Walterboro, SC. I am married to Ronald who is the love of my life and my greatest cheerleader. I am the mother of three grown children. I am a graduate of the University of SC with a Bachelor's degree. I received my Master's degree from Wheelock College and my Education Specialist degree (Ed.S) from Walden University. I am passionate about teaching and it is not a job but an opportunity to touch a child's life. I consider myself a lifetime learner and my greatest teachers are my sweet little K5A students. They have definitely stolen my heart and I know they will leave such a sweet imprint in my heart. Our class motto is "There is Never a Dull Moment in K5A!" I am so excited to see what God will do in and through them this school year.

I hope to encourage each of my students to live each day displaying God's love and light for all to see. I am so blessed and thankful to be part of the staff at OCS. Special Areas

Vicki Hanson / Library

I am a native Californian and have only been in South Carolina for two years. My husband and I were moved here for an employment opportunity. We were part of a wonderful church in San Diego and both were involved in many ministries there. I have always loved working with students and have focused on working with Special needs students for over 10 years. I love helping students gain a love for reading. I especially love showing them the adventures that await them in the printed page and their own imagination. You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you - Isaiah 26:3

David Renneisen / Physical Education

I have taught at The Oaks for over 8 years. I teach PE for K3 through the 8th grade. I was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I retired from the US Air Force after 20 years. I supervise the Teen Summer Camp for Goose Creek and also coach Cross Country and Track at Stratford High School.

Tammy Austin / Music

My love for music began as a young child. At the age of 3, I sang in the preschool choir at Fleming Baptist church. By age 4, I was singing solos at that same church up to the age of 18. Between I tried many different instruments but the flute was my favorite. In high school, I was a member of the chorus and marching band. While there, I traveled across the country and won many awards. After graduating I went to Augusta College as a physics/pre-engineering major but music courses were what kept me sane. My music focus was vocalization. After a series of unfortunate events, I switched colleges and majors. I became an emergency medical technician. I worked in the field until I married and began my family. During the time my husband was stationed in Virginia Beach the music director of Bayside Baptist approached me to teach preschool choir. I resisted at first but then the subject would not go away, so I finally accepted. That was my mission there for 3 years. Then my husband was medically retired and we moved to West Jefferson, NC. Over those 3 years, I was put in various teaching positions including, county-wide music teacher.  Then we moved here to South Carolina, where I homeschooled my own children until graduation. That is when I began to teach at The Oaks. My road has been windy, but God has placed me each and every time. Giving me the experiences that prepare me for the next mission He has in store for my life.
