My family and I are members of Crossroads Community church. My hobbies include anything outside, especially in and around water. It is such a blessing to be part of the Oaks family and I am so excited to be the K3 teacher again this year. Our classroom has a puppy dog theme, which includes our class pet Trooper, a stuffed puppy. We want to promote a playful and safe environment for the smallest of our Oaks children as we introduce them to the fundamentals of school. Our days are filled with fun activities, Christian based curriculum, and special area classes. “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6
My family and I moved to Summerville a year ago from Hallstead, PA just to be adventurous. I'm happily married to my husband Paul and we have 3 beautiful daughters Kayla, Morgan and Myah. We are members to Crossroads Community Church. Myah will be attending the Oaks this year. We are both very excited to have been welcomed into the Oaks family and to start this new journey. My hobbies include reading, painting, bird watching, walking, hiking and fitness. I love fitness so much that I became a National Council on Strength & Fitness personal trainer in 2011. I have worked with children and provided childcare in my home off and on since I was a teenager. I love children and what they teach me. Live in the moment and love unconditionally. "I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13

The Lord has given me a heart for children and I love teaching them how very much Jesus loves them! "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-8

I taught K4/K5 and 1st grade for 17 years and retired in 2015, only to return as a K4 Teachers Assistant in 2018. I also currently serve on The Oak’s school board.
I love camping, traveling, riding the Goldwing trike with my husband and spending time with my family. I have always had a love for children. They are our future and I am passionate about teaching not only their academics but especially about the love of Jesus. I pray when these children leave here and go out in the world, they will have a foundation of wisdom, knowledge, and a light to shine for Jesus. "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

This is my third year teaching at the Oaks, and my second year teaching third grade. I graduated from Clemson University in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. I worked as a nanny for a year before being led to teach at OCS. I have lived with my wonderful family in Summerville all my life. Our class verse this year is Hebrews 10:24, "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds." I hope to inspire each of my students to live like Christ by being supportive and encouraging of each other. God directs us in scripture to love with our words and actions, especially among our fellow believers. I look forward to working with my students to create a close, loving community in our classroom this year. I am so blessed and thankful to be part of the staff at the OCS. God has led me to work with such kind people and amazing kiddos. I look forward to seeing His hand at work this school year.

I am a Summerville native. Inspired by local fabulous teachers, I joined the teaching community in 1990. After 14 years of public school education at Newington and Flowertown Elementary, I was led to pursue teaching in a Christian environment. I taught at Cathedral Academy for 11 years, before retiring in 2015. I enjoyed a two year respite, then felt God was leading me back to the classroom. I am so excited to begin my journey at The Oaks! My husband, Tom, and I have been married 27 years this month and he is an Engineer with Summerville Fire and Rescue. My daughter, Caroline, is a rising sophomore at Anderson University, where she is pursuing degrees in both history and English. She will be a third generation teacher in our family! "But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way." 1 Cor. 14:40
I am a native Californian and have been in South Carolina for 6 years. My husband and I were moved here through his job. I have always loved working with students and have focused on working with Special needs students for over 10 years in San Diego. As the Oaks Librarian, I love helping students gain a love for reading. I especially enjoy showing them the adventures that await them in the printed page and their own imagination. I hope students see the library as their self directed place of learning. "You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you." - Isaiah 26:3
I have taught at the Oaks for over 11 years. I teach P.E. for K3 through 8th grade. my philosophy is fitness is fun. I was born in Milwaukee Wisconsin and raised in Minneapolis Minnesota. My name is Sherry Perryman and I have been married for 28 years and have one daughter who is an adult. We moved from Michigan to here about 9 years ago. I have loved art for as long as I can remember and have taken classes all through middle school and high school. I also attended the Pontiac Art Institute during high school and after I graduated. I taught art at Waterford Christian Academy until we moved here and also worked as a hairdresser for about 30 years. My verse is Psalm 19:1. I picked this verse because it shows my students that God is the first and best artist. "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the expanse of heaven show the work of His hands." Psalm 19:1
Hello my name is Christina Davis. I am thrilled to be the music teacher here at the OAKS Christian School. I was raised in the mountain state of West Virginia. It was there that I found out how important music was to me. I was the 7 year old child who begged my mother for a piano. After 10 years of piano lessons and 5 years of college level training I became a music teacher.
Although I love to play, sing and write music it is a great joy for me to teach and inspire others in the world of music. For over 30 years I have been teaching piano, voice, and music classes. Since 2003 I have worked with choirs, small ensembles, and individuals in programs, as well as competitions. One of my most enjoyable ensembles played the English Hand bells. Even more important to my life’s story is the spiritual part. I accepted Jesus as my Savior when I was just 5 years old. As I participated in youth programs, learning Bible verses, learning how to spend personal time with God daily, and even being challenged to do gifts of service to others I was blessed to grow in my faith.
I consider every part of my life as a part of God’s plan for me.
