My family and I are members of Crossroads Community church. My hobbies include anything outside, especially in and around water. It is such a blessing to be part of the Oaks family and I am so excited to be the K3 teacher again this year. Our classroom has a puppy dog theme, which includes our class pet Trooper, a stuffed puppy. We want to promote a playful and safe environment for the smallest of our Oaks children as we introduce them to the fundamentals of school. Our days are filled with fun activities, Christian based curriculum, and special area classes. “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6
My family and I moved to Summerville a year ago from Hallstead, PA just to be adventurous. I'm happily married to my husband Paul and we have 3 beautiful daughters Kayla, Morgan and Myah. We are members to Crossroads Community Church. Myah will be attending the Oaks this year. We are both very excited to have been welcomed into the Oaks family and to start this new journey. My hobbies include reading, painting, bird watching, walking, hiking and fitness. I love fitness so much that I became a National Council on Strength & Fitness personal trainer in 2011. I have worked with children and provided childcare in my home off and on since I was a teenager. I love children and what they teach me. Live in the moment and love unconditionally. "I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13
I am so excited to be teaching my third year here at The Oaks! I graduated from San Jose State University in California with a Bachelor's in Child and Adolescent Development in 2007. After that, I worked in a child development center as a PreK teacher and worked my way up to Director. In 2014 my husband's' job relocated our family to the Charleston area. We have two girls who also attend The Oaks! Brynn is in 2nd grade and Addison is in K5. "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." Jer. 29:11
This will be my 2nd year working with The Oaks, though, we have been part of The Oaks family for 6 years. I have been married for 11 years and have 2 beautiful children who attend The Oaks. I am so blessed to be with K4/ Mrs. Gibby this year. The little ones can always put a smile on my face and joy in my heart. I can't wait to see God work through them this year! I was born and raised in Charleston, SC and there is no greater place to live. This is my seventh year working at The Oaks and I look forward to another amazing year! Working for the Oaks is so rewarding in that I get to work in a field that I can experience my faith and my passion working together. I love working with children and helping them grow developmentally and academically as well as spiritually, it is just one of my many passions. I also enjoy working in youth ministry at Crossroads Community Church, anything involving music, eating (I'm a huge foodie!) and I also enjoy working out in my free time. I have been married to my amazing, supportive husband, Chas, for 4 years and I know I would not be able to accomplish all that I have without his love and support. We just welcomed our first child, Beckham, into our family on July 20 and he has already taught me so much about being a wife, a mother, and a teacher. We have another little baby and that is our beagle-hound mix, Oliver. I also recently finished my degree in business administration this June through Grand Canyon University. It has been a busy Summer! May the Lord bless you and your family this school year! "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. I have my B.A. in Elementary Education and this is my second year teaching K5. As the mother of two boys, I realized how important their early years were and the positive impact I had on their growth. I was fortunate to have been able to be a stay-at-home mom for several years to nurture them and watch them grow. I began working at the Oaks Christian School in 2016 and am amazed by the amount of love and support that is found in this wonderful school. I am thankful for the opportunity to work in a nurturing, loving environment where children can learn and experience new challenges that will help build their confidence while they play. I look forward to continued success and new discoveries with an amazing team of teachers. My favorite verse is Psalm 73:28 It is always good to draw near to God. No matter what, we can trust in Him.

Our class verse this year is Hebrews 10:24, "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds." I hope to inspire each of my students to live like Christ by being supportive and encouraging of each other. God directs us in scripture to love with our words and actions, especially among our fellow believers. I look forward to working with my students to create a close, loving community in our classroom this year. I am so blessed and thankful to be part of the staff at the OCS. It has been said that a good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill the love of learning. That's my goal. I've been blessed to be a teacher for over 25 years in various different capacities ranging from the classroom to the Sunday School room, from homeschool to the African pori, from inner-city Chicago to teaching English in the Czech Republic. Everywhere it's the same...I love watching students discover yet another amazing aspect of this world God has so intricately designed and finding their hope in Him. Catching students' excitement as their imaginations begin to soar, and witnessing the change from being a bored student to an inspired one thrills my heart no matter what the venue! My hometown is Jacksonville, Florida and I graduated from Liberty University in Virginia. I have 3 extra-special blessings in my life named Elijah, Emily, and Anna. Elijah is 19 and working his way through college, Emily is a senior at Ashley Ridge High School, and Anna is in 8th grade at Rollings Middle School of the Arts. My passion is missions and ministry, and I'm honored to be a part of your child's life this year. Thank you for the opportunity. "Let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action." I moved to the Charleston area in 1999 to attend Charleston Southern University, where I received my Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. Some of my most vivid memories as a child are of spending time in my dad's high school classroom where he taught government and economics. This experience began a lifelong passion for teaching. In my life, I've had the pleasure of teaching English as a second language to children, tutoring college students in math and science, and am currently teaching adults at Crossroads Community Church. The subject I was the most passionate about when I was in school was mathematics and I have been blessed with an opportunity to combine those two passions through teaching at the Oaks. All of this has been possible because of the grace of my Heavenly Father and the support of my loving wife, Aleisha. My wife and I have been married for 12 years and have a beautiful little dog named Bethly. "Jesus replied, 'What is impossible with men is possible with God.'" Luke 18:27

I hope students see the library as their self directed place of learning. "You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you." - Isaiah 26:3
